Megan uses Voicethread as a collaborative learning tool for her students. She challenges her students with the Q: "How do you make thinking visible? " In this example, she asks them to "read" the room by analyzing "teacher-student" made anchor charts used for a variety of curricular and instructional purposes. Click on any VT image to hear how teacher candidates "read" or analyze the classroom using anchor charts.
1 COURSE X 2 CLASSROOMS =
TWICE THE LEARNING 24/7!
Megan offers her busy teacher candidates two opportunities to engage with literacy content and practical methods using both an online Google Classroom site & a traditional face-to-face classroom. She says to her students: "As a student and a teacher you have to develop BOTH Language Arts content knowledge (what is literacy?) and 'craft' (how to teach literacy).
To accomplish this goal, we will have 'TWO' Classrooms:
1. Mar Vista Elementary School in room 803 on Tues/Thurs.
2. Our Google Classroom Open 24/7
She explains how technology bridges the gap between face-to-face learning and an online class in the following graphic:
